But the yarn is hot anyway.
It's not quite so florescent in colour. It's a mix between the two photos.
I have decided to call it Cornflower Crossing as that is the colour of the yarn.
Personally, I'd call it medium blue but what ever floats your boat, eh?
At work the desks are arranged in groups of four - "pods" they are called. On my pod, there is only me and another temp. My "pod" is on the end of the row of "pods". Three of the four people on the pod next to ours go home at 4pm, the other is another temp. Up to 4.30pm, I can usually be found hiding in the post room, sending post to people who work from home. From 4.30pm til I leave, I can scribble designs on my note pad. Today I decided on the basic shape for the front of my Baby Cashmerino top. I really hate my job, but I really love the fact that they leave us unsupervised with no pressing work to do.
The top really needs a name. Any ideas?
Last night I was a bad girl. I ordered yarn. Even though I have no money. I should have yarn enough now to make Bianca's Jacket (in yellow) and Coral Crossing (in blue). Because obviously I don't already have enough yarn.
Hurrah!
This weekend I went home and found that Interweave Knits and Knitscene had been delivered to my parent's home by Angel Yarns.
I have decided on my next projects:
From Interweave Knits:
This is Bianca's Jacket from Interweave Knits. Not a top priority knit but I need more smartish cardigan-top things and
This is cute but I think I would have to make alterations. I'd make the body longer, for my comfort, and I'd leave out the pockets. Because they really look shite. Apart from that I think it would look really cute in a cotton-y yarn, Rowan's all seasons perhaps.
OK, so this I adore. I have to admit it has had to grow on me, but then most of the projects included here from Interweave have. I love the little patterns, the shape of the jumper, the colours.
This is a definate and one of the first things I will be making.
This is cute, and looks fun. I enjoy lace but don't do it nearly often enough. Again, I would make it longer in the body.
This is what I bought the magazine for, but there are a few factors that deter me from even buying the yarn for it. For starters, I would never wear it and I don't know anyone else who would either. Secondly, I think the lace might drive me bonkers. Thirdly, it looks far too small, but I'm sure this could be remedied.
This has totally grown on me. At first I thought it would be a fun to knit, but gay to wear think. Now I just don't care.
So loads there to keep me going huh?
On to Knitscene.
Yes, yes I know this looks utterly hideous now, but loose the bizare neck
line and it could be beautiful.
Lose the flowers (seriously, wtf) and possibly change the colour, and you could have something delightful on your needles.
But seriously, what is up with those flowers?
Or the Baby Cashmere, even.
I'm making a bolero/shruggery type thing (like a shrubbery, but less offensive). I'm also, and this is the exciting part, making the design up. I think I've got it sorted.
As usual I have a vision in my head of me looking slender and gorgeous and the finished item fitting like a glove. I will probably be disappointed, but I'm still giving it a go. Woo!
I attempted to make an argyle head band but I don't think it's working. The headband is much too wide when you encompase enough argyle pattern to make it interesting.
I was thinking about making wrist warmers, but I'm not sure I can be bothered with colour-work in the round.
I think I long pixie type hat might be in order.
I had a bit of a yarn calamity last night. I had cast on half the stitches for Eunny's Deep V Argyle vest, when to my horror I realised that it wasn't enough to go round a quarter of me let alone a half. Now I know I've put on a bit of weight in recent months (why, yes, there is subtext there: I am now roughly the same size and weight as a baby elephant. I even have the trunk. No only kidding) but this is silly.
I guess baby cashmerino is not dk weight. Instead I am going to make a hat. In the same argyle pattern. I'm sure it's do able. And I do love hats.
I have some delightful yarn, haha, that may well be turned into the vest hiding in my stash. It's acrylic, and rather hideous shades of grey, and green.
I have done ZERO knitterly things this holiday. I didn't even take stuff home with me.
I have now got some needles to knit the Deep V Argyle Vest with though, which is exciting.
I really should get back on the old crafty horse, so here is a list of things I'd like to make.
The Deep V.
Sherwood (for an adult).
Serrano.
Some wrist warmers made from DB Maya to match my random hat.
A smart jacket. Preferably in an off white with thing egg-shell blue lines.
I've also planned to lose a couple of stone, because I have put on A Lot of weight recently.
